James Madison
The fourth President of the United States, James Madison, Jr., was born on March 16, 1751, and died on June 28, 1836. His pivotal role in writing and supporting the United States Constitution and the United States Bill of Rights has people generally regarding him as being “the Father of the Constitution.” He was a founder member of the Democratic-Republican Party, a writer for The Federalist Journals, and served as the fifth United States Secretary of State from 1801 to 1809.
