Description
This print reproduces Pete Souza’s White House photograph of Barack Obama meeting Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office on January 21, 2009, shortly after she was confirmed and sworn in as secretary of state. Souza was chief official White House photographer. The shop body uses that first-day caption. The image filename incorrectly reads 2019. Clinton had been confirmed by the Senate on January 21, 2009, and took the oath the same day.
This is a documentary still from the opening of the administration, not the December 6, 2012 Oval Office camera portrait and not Robert McCurdy’s 2018 Collection oil. Companion first-day frames, including Obama seated alone at the desk, are sold separately here. The listing follows the January 21, 2009 meeting named in the shop description.
This listing is a contemporary print from the photograph, not a vintage print from the sitting. Choose fine art paper, luster photo paper, or mounted canvas.
