Description
This print reproduces Pete Souza’s White House photograph of Barack Obama in the Oval Office on January 21, 2009, his first full day as president. The shop caption states that he is speaking with a foreign leader. Souza documented the opening hours of the administration at the Resolute Desk. The picture belongs to the Photo Office inaugural series, not to a later painted portrait.
Companion frames from January 21, 2009, including Obama seated alone and Obama with newly sworn Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, are sold separately here. The December 6, 2012 official Oval Office camera portrait is a different sitting. McCurdy’s 2018 White House Collection oil is a different object entirely. This listing is the first-day telephone still.
This listing is a contemporary print from the photograph, not a vintage print from the sitting. Choose fine art paper, luster photo paper, or mounted canvas.
