This print reproduces a White House photograph by Pete Souza of Barack Obama on the telephone in the Oval Office, seated at the Resolute Desk. Souza was chief official White House photographer. The widely published picture of Obama calling President Raul Castro of Cuba is dated December 16, 2014 (White House file P121614PS-0596). That call preceded the December 17 announcement that restored diplomatic ties.
The shop caption dates a Castro call September 18, 2015, a later conversation about the Pope’s visit and normalization. The image filename uses 2016.
