Description

This print reproduces Anders Zorn’s portrait of Grover Cleveland. Zorn (1860 to 1920), the Swedish painter and etcher, worked in the United States in the 1890s and painted both Clevelands. His 1899 oil of Frances Folsom Cleveland is in the White House Collection. His likeness of the president is a separate picture, not Jonathan Eastman Johnson’s 1891 White House Collection portrait of Grover Cleveland.

Zorn’s Cleveland is a solid, direct bust, painted with the wet, summary brush he used for American sitters. The National Portrait Gallery and other collections hold Zorn material related to the Clevelands. Johnson’s 1891 official-scale White House canvas is sold separately here as PP1040. This listing follows the Zorn type named in the shop file.

This listing is a contemporary print after the painting, not the original oil. Choose fine art paper, luster photo paper, or mounted canvas.
