Description

This print reproduces Albert Gallatin Hoit’s 1840 oil portrait of William Henry Harrison. Hoit (1809 to 1856), a New Hampshire painter, recorded Harrison in the log-cabin campaign year, before the one-month presidency of 1841. Harrison wears a civilian coat, the aged general as candidate.

The White House Collection portrait listed by the White House Historical Association is James Reid Lambdin’s 1835 oil, sold separately here. Hoit’s 1840 canvas is a different picture from the campaign season. Harrison died on April 4, 1841. This listing follows the Hoit type named in the shop file, not the 1835 Lambdin.

This listing is a contemporary print after the painting, not the original oil. Choose fine art paper, luster photo paper, or mounted canvas.
