Description
This print reproduces Pete Souza’s White House photograph of Barack Obama, made in the Oval Office on December 6, 2012. Souza was chief official White House photographer. The Library of Congress holds the digital file (LC-DIG-ppbd-00603). The White House file number is P120612PS-0463. Obama sits in a dark suit against the Resolute Desk interior, a second-term camera portrait.
The White House Collection oil listed by the White House Historical Association is Robert McCurdy’s 2018 canvas, painted after Obama left office. That McCurdy is not this listing. Souza’s 2012 photograph is the Photo Office portrait used on the White House site, not the later mansion painting. Other Souza Oval Office pictures from 2009 are sold separately here.
This listing is a contemporary print from the photograph, not a vintage print from the sitting. Choose fine art paper, luster photo paper, or mounted canvas.
