Description
This print reproduces Frank Graham Cootes’s 1936 oil on canvas of Woodrow Wilson, the White House Collection portrait cataloged by the White House Historical Association. Cootes painted Wilson more than a decade after the presidency and after Wilson’s death in 1924. The canvas is about 50 by 40 inches.
Wilson sits in a dark suit, a later commemorative likeness. John Christen Johansen painted Wilson from life in 1919, the year of the Peace Conference and the stroke. That Johansen is sold separately here and is not the White House Collection picture. The White House Historical Association lists Cootes 1936 as the Collection portrait of the twenty-eighth president.
This listing is a contemporary print after the painting, not the original oil. Choose fine art paper, luster photo paper, or mounted canvas.
